Secondary cracks WILL become your next pothole unless sealed.

Unsealed PCC/AC joints allow water under the PCC slabs. Heavy traffic deteriorates the PCC causing it to move and break. This movement creates further damage to the asphalt. The cracks allow water to penetrate under the damaged PCC and accelerate the disrepair.

Pothole with Secondary Cracks Solution

Unsealed cracks can lead to potholes. When properly sealed, only 1% of cracks form into potholes within 3 years. Without proper sealing, 75% of cracks form into potholes within the same time frame. Sealing secondary cracks is an important step in pothole prevention.
